Credit & Credential Options Overview

Dublin City Schools offers multiple pathways for students to explore pathways to their future by connecting classroom instruction to real-world application. Some courses and programs across the district provide advancement opportunities through college partnerships, industry certifications, and career-focused experiences that prepare students for success beyond high school.

Below is a short description of each opportunity.

High School Credit

All courses throughout Dublin City Schools award high school credit toward graduation. Courses are offered at the Regular, Honors, or Weighted 5.0 level, depending on rigor and program design. This ensures students receive recognition for engaging in challenging, hands-on coursework that supports academic and career readiness.

College Credit Plus (CCP)

College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual-enrollment program that allows students to take college courses through approved institutions, such as Columbus State Community College or the University of Cincinnati, while still in high school. These courses provide both transcripted college credit and high school credit upon successful completion. Most CCP courses are weighted 5.0 in Dublin City Schools.

Emerald Campus: All CCP at Emerald Campus, such as: College Composition, College Algebra, and courses in select academies such as Media Production

International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program emphasizes research, reflection, and inquiry within a global context. Students may take individual IB courses or pursue the full IB Diploma Programme, earning potential college credit based on official IB exam results and university recognition policies. All IB courses are weighted 5.0 in Dublin City Schools.

Emerald Campus: All CCP at Emerald Campus, such as: IB Business Management or IB Sports, Exercise & Health Science SL or HL.

Advanced Placement (AP)

Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer college-level study through the College Board and culminate in national AP exams. Students may earn college credit or advanced placement depending on their exam score and individual university policies. All AP courses are weighted 5.0 in Dublin City Schools.

Emerald Campus: Most are at the home school, but Emerald does currently have AP Physics II or AP Japanese

Career-Technical Assurance Guide (CTAG)

CTAG courses connect career-technical coursework with college credit through the Ohio Department of Higher Education. After completing required coursework and earning qualifying scores on state-approved assessments, students are guaranteed transferable credit at any Ohio public college or university. CTAG courses are weighted 5.0 in Dublin City Schools.

Emerald Campus: CTAGs in Aviation and Dublin Teacher Academy, and in 25-26 - Business and Entrepreneur Academies

Industry-Recognized Credential

Some programs across Dublin City Schools prepare students for professional certifications that validate technical or specialized skills. These credentials demonstrate readiness for employment or advanced study and are earned by passing state or industry-recognized exams. Industry credentials are part of the curriculum and do not carry a weighted grade.

Emerald Campus: CompTIA Certification in Cyber and IT Academy, as well as FAA Part 107, USI Levels 1/3/4) in Aviation Academy.

OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal (OMJ)

The OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal recognizes students who demonstrate professional skills such as communication, reliability, teamwork, and leadership. Trained mentors verify each competency, and the seal serves as evidence of employability and career readiness for colleges, employers, and the military. Seals are part of the curriculum and do not carry a weighted grade.

Emerald Campus: Earned through experiences such as the Young Professionals Academy.
