Official IB Assessments

All students will complete internal and classroom assessments throughout the year. While IB Diploma students must complete all internal and external assessments, others may choose whether to submit their Internal Assessment to IB and sit for the official IB external exams. All students choosing to participate in official IB assessments must pay a $125 registration fee.

Participating in official IB assessments offers benefits, including the opportunity to earn college credit. Ohio public universities now award credit for scores of 4+ in higher-level courses and 5+ in standard-level courses. More information about IB credit awarded by colleges and universities can be found in the online database provided on this site. Students are also encouraged to check individual college websites for additional details.

Additionally, completing external assessments demonstrates a student’s ability to succeed in rigorous, globally recognized courses. IB courses prepare students well for future academic and career endeavors. Research shows that IB students achieve substantially better post-secondary outcomes than the average high school student. IB transcripts can be sent to an institution of your choice with your permission, granted through the Dublin senior survey. Scores will not be sent if no college is selected or permission is not given. Once released, results will be available to institutions via an IB secure website or on paper if the institution does not use the IB secure site.

If the senior survey is completed with the necessary information, the request is processed and sent free of charge. After July 5 (May exam sessions), IB graduates can request transcripts by visiting rrs.ibo.org. A fee applies for each additional request, regardless of previous submissions.
