The Biomedical Research Academy offers an immersive experience into the worlds of biology, research, physiology, and art.

This program is tailored for students with a strong interest in careers in medicine, nursing, research, or allied health sciences. Participants will engage in a problem-based learning environment that lays a solid foundation in biomedical practices, complemented by insights from regular guest speakers who are professionals in the field. The coursework is rigorous and fast-paced, requiring students to design, conduct, and present a year-long individualized biomedical research study. Successful completion of the academy fulfills the advanced science graduation requirement.

This Academy Is For:
The Biomedical Research Academy is ideal for students who have a passion for science, an interest in health and medical fields, and a desire for hands-on experience through advanced research, physiology, and art. It is designed for those who thrive in challenging academic environments and wish to explore biomedical careers in depth.

Course Information:
Students enrolled in the Biomedical Research Academy will attend classes at the Emerald Campus for a 2-period block throughout the academic year. The course offers opportunities to earn valuable credentials, including CPR and First Aid certifications, and provides the option to earn either an Art or AP Biology credit.

Things to Note:
Due to the rigorous nature of this program, only students with a strong academic background in math and science will be considered for participation. The academy has limited seats available; if the number of requests exceeds capacity, priority will be given based on student seniority and academic performance.
