Information Technology

The IT Academy offers students a comprehensive exploration of Information Technology, focusing on software development through a series of courses in programming languages, web design, database management, and more.

This program provides students with the opportunity to earn college credit while gaining advanced computer programming skills. In partnership with Columbus State Community College and Tolles, the IT Academy prepares students for various careers in the IT field, combining classroom instruction with hands-on learning experiences.

This Academy Is For:
The IT Academy is ideal for students who are passionate about computers and information technology, enjoy learning in a hands-on environment, and are interested in pursuing a career in IT. It is designed for those who wish to develop practical skills in programming, web design, and database technology.

Course Information:
The IT Academy is a two-year program that meets for two periods each day at the Emerald Campus. Students can earn college credit by taking courses through Columbus State Community College. To be eligible for college credit, students must pass the Columbus State entrance assessment, which requires a solid understanding of Algebra II. The program is open to students from all three high schools through an online application process.

Students will have the opportunity to work with industry-standard technology and software, gaining practical experience that will be valuable in their future careers. The IT Academy’s partnership with Columbus State and Tolles provides students with access to college-level courses and the chance to earn credits that can be applied toward further education.
