College Credit Plus (CCP) at Emerald Campus Overview

College Credit Plus (CCP) at Emerald Campus allows students to earn both high school and college credit, at no cost, while still in high school. Through partnerships with Columbus State Community College (CSCC) and the University of Cincinnati (UC), students can experience college-level expectations in a supportive environment designed for their success.

CCP courses help students build confidence, strengthen time management and study habits, and explore potential college majors or career pathways. Whether you take one course or several, College Credit Plus gives you a head start on earning transcripted college credit that can transfer to most public universities in Ohio and many across the nation.

Participation Steps

Taking college courses for both high school and college credit requires a few key steps each year. Students and families should follow the timeline below to stay on track for eligibility and enrollment.

• Participate in the Required CCP Counseling Session to review program details, benefits, and expectations.
• Complete the electronic CCP Intent Form electronically through the student's Dublin Gmail account during scheduling and no later April 1 of EACH year.
• Apply to the partner college as a College Credit Plus student and submit all required documentation. Partner colleges for Emerald Campus include:
  • Columbus State Community College (CSCC)
  • University of Cincinnati (UC)
• Meet with the home school counselor (January) during high school scheduling once all the above is complete to confirm CCP interest and discuss how it fits into your academic plan.
• Schedule in the academic planning tool the requested CCP courses (January)
• Complete additional steps, scheduling documentation, and placement tests per the college

Eligibility & Enrollment

Students must meet College Credit Plus eligibility requirements and apply to the partner college. A 3.0 unweighted GPA or qualifying placement score (ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer) is required. Most courses are open to grades 11–12, though qualified students in grades 9–10 may be eligible based on readiness.

CCP is a great fit for motivated students who are ready for a challenge, want to explore college coursework early, and can manage the expectations of a college-level class. It’s ideal for those seeking an academic head start, exploring future majors, or maximizing their time in high school.

College Credit Plus (CCP) at Emerald Campus

Earn transcripted college and high school credit through Columbus State Community College (CSCC) and the University of Cincinnati (UC).

Early College Academy (CSCC — Full Year: A018)- 12 college credits

A18 — Four-course sequence — first semester Composition I and either Psychology or Sociology, then second semester Composition II and the remaining course (Psychology or Sociology) — plus a weekly College Seminar. Build college-ready writing, analysis, and study skills while earning dual credit in a supportive setting.

Early College Semester-Only Options (CSCC — A10, A11, A12, A14) - 6 college credits

Students may enroll in Early College as a single-semester option instead of the full four-course sequence.

• A10 — Fall: Composition I + Psychology + Friday Seminar
• A11 — Fall: Composition I + Sociology+ Friday Seminar
• A12 — Spring: Composition II + Psychology+ Friday Seminar
• A14 — Spring: Composition II + Sociology+ Friday Seminar

Math Courses (CSCC)

Students may earn transcripted college and high school credit in mathematics through Columbus State Community College. Each course is offered as a single-semester, one-period CCP option at Emerald Campus.

College Algebra — CSMATH1148 (CSCC: MATH 1148) - 4 college credits

Polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions with emphasis on graphing, transformations, and real-world modeling.

Prerequisite: High School Algebra II (A or B) OR eligibility score (ACT 24+, SAT 570+, ALEKS 54+).

Trigonometry — CSMATH1149 (CSCC: MATH 1149) - 4 college credits

Trigonometric functions, identities, equations, and graphs with applications in geometry and periodic phenomena.

Prerequisite: Honors Algebra II or Precalculus recommended; Required: ACT 26+, SAT 610+, ALEKS 61+, or C or higher in MATH 1148.

Calculus I — CSMATH1151 (CSCC: MATH 1151) - 5 college credits

Limits, continuity, differentiation, and integration with applications in science, engineering, and economics.

Prerequisite: AP Precalculus recommended; Required: ACT 28+, SAT 650+, ALEKS 76+, or C or higher in Trigonometry/Precalculus.

Calculus II — CSMATH1152 (CSCC: MATH 1152) - 5 college credits

Advanced integration techniques, sequences and series, and parametric and polar functions.

Prerequisite: Required: CSCC MATH 1151 with a minimum grade of C.

Language Studies — American Sign Language (CSCC) - 2 Course Sequence Required

ASL I — CSASL1101 (CSCC: ASL 1101) - 3 college credits

Build foundational expressive/receptive signing, fingerspelling, and conversational skills in a voice-off environment while developing awareness of Deaf culture.

ASL II — CSASL1102 (CSCC: ASL 1102) - 3 college credits

Expand vocabulary, grammar, and fluency through storytelling, presentations, and cultural study of Deaf history and communities.

Language Studies — Arabic (CSCC) - 2 Course Sequence Required

Arabic I — ARAB 1101 (CSCC: ARAB 1101) - 3 college credits

Develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing foundations in Arabic while exploring the cultures and communities of the Arabic-speaking world.

Arabic II — ARAB 1102 (CSCC: ARAB 1102) - 3 college credits

Early College Academy

Students completing Composition, Psychology, or Sociology through the Early College Academy are well-positioned to continue advanced English and social science courses at their university or through additional CCP opportunities. Many leverage these credits to enter college with general education requirements already fulfilled.

Language Studies: American Sign Language & Arabic

Students who complete two semesters of ASL or Arabic gain language proficiency and intercultural communication experience. These students often continue to advanced college language levels, pursue global studies, education, or international business, or enhance their readiness for IB World Language or Honors courses.

Math Studies

College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus students can progress directly to Calculus II or university-level math and statistics courses. These credits support majors in engineering, data science, business, computer science, architecture, and the health sciences.

Academy Pathways with Embedded CCP

Students in the Engineering, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Media Academies earn embedded CCP credit tied to their field of study. These experiences open doors to technical certifications, internships, and college programs in their discipline. Many students transition directly into degree pathways with CSCC, UC, or other partner institutions.
