Math Studies

This option Is For:

These four college math courses are ideal for high school students in grades 9-12 who are interested in strengthening their mathematical skills, earning college credits, and preparing for advanced studies. Designed for motivated learners, these courses offer opportunities to deepen understanding in topics such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus, helping students build a strong foundation for future academic and career pursuits.

Things to Note:

• The program requires students participate in Columbus State College Credit Plus courses.

Course Information:

• CSCC College Algebra - 1st Sem - 1 high school and 4 college credit

Prerequisites: Alg II or Honors Alg II  w/ACT Math: 22+/SAT math: 530+/ALEKS: 46+

• CSCC Trigonometry - 1st or 2nd Sem - 1 high school and 4 college credit

Prerequisites: AP Precalculus or Calculus w/ACT: 28+/SAT: 650+/ALEKS: 76+, or CSCC Trig grade C

• CSCC Calculus I - 1st or 2nd Sem - 1 high school and 5 college credit

Prerequisites: Recommend Honors Precalc or Calc w/ACT: 28+/SAT: 650+/ALEKS: 76+, or CSCC Trig grade C

• CSCC Calculus II - 2nd Sem - 1 high school and 5 college credit

Prerequisites: MATH 1151 with a minimum grade of “C” or 3 or higher on the AP Calculus AB exam

College Credit Plus:

Students must complete the program requirements located on the district CCP page and have a 3.0 unweighted GPA (or pass the applicable Columbus State Community College (CSCC) entrance assessment). Additional prerequisites apply for each math class (indicated above).
